Activities and Facilities
Here at The Hollies we offer our residents a number of activities to help them enjoy their days and firmly believe that The Hollies owes a lot of its success to the level of activities we provide.
Our residents, after watching a late night movie, can go to bed knowing that something else is happening the next day. Along with a activities co-ordinator who runs a weekly schedule, from card making through to quizzes, we also bring in professional entertainers such as female and male vocalists singing a variety of different songs to suit all tastes.
Relatives are always encouraged to come and join us for our social occasions, and some are known to join in!
We also run seasonal events such as a staff pantomime at Christmas, bonnet making at Easter and themed meals around Halloween.
Once a year we host a garden party in the summer for all residents, their family and staff. This year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary with a Festival in the Garden where guests will be treated to live music and a DJ, a full bar and a hog roast. We find these events key to keeping up to date with families of residents and in order for them to see these events in person.
We also have our own mini bus which we can use to transport our residents on days out and have recently had trips to the seaside and pub lunches in the countryside nearby.
We also offer a range of well-being activities for our residents, such as age appropriate exercise classes, chiropody for those who require it and we are also proud to have our own beauty salon where residents can receive a number of treatments including cut and colouring, styling and manicure & pedicures.
We update our website monthly with any news or pictures of recent events for friends and family to see; we also run a quarterly newsletter to keep not only the residents, but the families of our residents up to date with upcoming events and changes in the home.
